About Five Talent Films

Five Talent Films, is a Christian movie company started by film maker Glenn Bertelsen in 2000. Since then FTF has produced 4 award-winning feature length Christian films. These films were primarily produced and shown to hundreds of people at local theaters around the Phoenix area.

The festivals and awards ranged from the first film “A Father’s Heart,” winning a 3rd place at the Accolade Competition in 2003 to the most recent film, “The Final Contract”, receiving the Gold Remi award at the 45th Annual Houston Int’l World Fest in 2012. Hey, like they say, “practice makes perfect.”

One of the ways FTF funds these projects is the Five Talent Films Annual Golf Tournament, now in its 11th year. FTF also receives contributions from people who believe in what the production company is doing. Glenn has assembled an all volunteer production staff, including a very gifted film editor, Peter Butler who lives in Texas and Willem van Wyk, the amazing music score producer, who resides in Oregon. Also worthy of mention are workhorses like Dennis Schmidt, Key Grip and Randy Rohde, D.P. Finding just the right people with the same passion is the key to any production company that wishes to succeed.

Actors worldwide are very passionate people when it comes to their craft. Five Talent Films actors are no different. Some of them, like Dave Johnson and Maryanne Burr are people who were cast for a small role in the 2nd film “The Choice”. They’re still with FTF today expressing their own passion and faith in more demanding roles like their wonderful performances in “The Final Contract”. Likewise, actors, Tim Blore, Gail Rae and Quintin Bulnes who were contacted through a local talent agency here in the Phoenix area will always be considered for future projects. These fine actors each had roles in the 3rd movie “My Angel”, but have also had significant parts in FTFs last movie “The Final Contract”. Much like a family, Glenn has chosen to recycle these talented individuals (both cast and crew) so that together they can grow in their love for making movies in the area and level of expertise they offer.

FTF Inc. was started in June of 2000 producing 4 Award winning, feature length Christian movies: “A Father’s Heart” “The Choice” “My Angel” and most recently, “The Final Contract”. The last 3 movies have all had showings at either Harkins Theaters or Ultra Star Cinemas.

“I am the “luckiest” husband (photo) and proud father of two phenomenal kids, not to mention one “awesome” daughter-in-law. Family has always been a priority. God has blessed me.”

Glenn has taken on the role of Writer/Director. He is also busy bringing on new production personnel to help assist in the many tasks demanded by the filmmaking process. Five Talent Films is quickly becoming fully operational with an all volunteer staff who have the same passion.

A Word from the Director

I became a Christian in the late 60s. I started making films in school back in the late 70s with Super 8 and 16mm movie cameras. Technology has changed things a lot today, which is a good thing. But not everything has changed. My desire to serve God and my passion to make movies has not changed, but has increased. I look forward to working on our next project, The Mis-Education of Joy, a story based on true events, lived out and seen firsthand by the author of the book, my new friend Paul Agard.

LIGHTS… CAMERA…. ACTION…. But the greatest of these is ACTION!

A word from the Script Supervisor

It’s been a real pleasure and a lot of fun working with Five Talent Films. A few years back, I was actually an extra in their 3rd production “My Angel”. Since then, I’ve been helping out with rehearsals and feeding lines to actors during the shoots. I’m truly looking forward to the next big project, The Mis-Education of Joy.

I have been interested in movie making since I was 16, and we made a 8 mm film “The Monster of Squaw Peak” complete with blood effects. So after many years of live theater, I joined Glenn and the gang to learn how to really do it and lend whatever skills I could. It is a great opportunity to create with God’s kids.

A Word from the D.P.

In my youth I loved to create mini features with my parent’s 8-mm movie camera. I cut the film with a razor blade and spliced together mini movies of my neighborhood friends. From that moment on I knew this was my passion. I learned all I could about cinematography, editing and the technology that is used to create movie magic. I am extremely blessed to make a living doing what God has given me a passion to do.

A word from the Editor

I became a Christian in 1987 and have been making movies with my friends since grade school. I was first introduced to Glenn in 2010, when I was offered the job to edit “The Final Contract”… It was a fantastic experience, and I learned so much from it; I’m hoping to use the experience I gained from that to help make the next film even better! I think we have the potential and all the right elements to make “The Mis-Education Of Joy” FTF’s best film yet!
